The Revolution Is Here: World, Meet Your New Favorite Bra

Bras are like friends. You can never have too many — but good ones are hard to find.

At 17, finding a bra was an exercise that involved sifting through a table of ruffled, ill-fitting underwires. At 29, I’ve fully retired from bra-foraging, but solid “I could sleep in this” tier bras remain diamonds in the rough.

When chatting with Knix Senior Design Director, Jules Power, I refer to this former phase as the “dark ages” of bra shopping. Being the design whiz she is, for a moment, she genuinely thinks I’m referring to the history of bras.

“The history of women’s undergarments is fascinating and the evolution of where we started and where we are now is really so interesting,” she tells me. It’s a prescient digression considering we’ve convened to talk about the launch of the new Revolution Bra, which intends to live up to its name.

It’s a project that’s been under wraps for years, and I’m curious to know exactly what it is that makes the new design so revolutionary. Knix ditched underwires in favor of wireless support from the get-go, developing a robust lineup of comfy, size-inclusive bras. What’s left to innovate?

Upstaging best-sellers, like the acclaimed WingWoman and Catalyst Bras, was no easy feat, she admits. But with this new launch, she’s excited to show people a “whole new side of [Knix].”

“We’re really lucky that we have such an amazing community and such an incredible support system with our customers,” says Jules. “They know what they want — and we’ve always made what they’ve asked us for.”

In other words, we’re giving the people what they want (and deserve). So, what exactly does that look like? Support, separation, and softer fabrics, according to Jules. “We knew there was an opportunity to design a new bra, but it was really about leaning into the innovation of new fabrications and bonding technologies.”

The fabric used to create the Revolution Bra, for one, is unparalleled. Bras cradle some of the most delicate parts of our anatomy — so, how it feels against our skin is important.

Naturally, the fabric used to bring the Revolution Bra to life had to be buttery-soft. The result is a truly sensory experience. “For me, it’s all about the fabric because we are tactile humans,” says Jules.

But it’s perhaps the Revolution Bra’s technological innovations that most set it apart from any other bra on the market. Its 3D fabric technology has been seamlessly integrated into the bra’s front, sides, back, and strap to provide lift and stability.

It has all the makings of a coveted dream bra, if there is such a thing. It’s soft and stretchy — designed to mold to your body and move with you — all while retaining support. “It really holds you beautifully,” adds Jules. “It’s the best of both worlds: soft and stretchy, but supportive with great retention.”

The Revolution Bra’s silhouette, too, is something to be marveled. Behind the scenes, Jules and her team have carefully contemplated the human form, considering how it should envelop and shape the body. The outcome is what she refers to as “the perfect plunge.”

To ensure wearability across a broad range of sizes, “testing started at day one,” according to Jules. It’s an experimental process that involves having each prototype and size thoroughly wear-tested to ensure everyone’s wants and needs are being met.

Asking a designer if they have a favorite design is kind of like asking a parent if they have a favorite child but, still, I press Jules for her go-to bra. “For day-to-day, you cannot take my Revolution Bra away from me,” she says.

“At the end of the day, everybody wants to feel and look good, and be comfortable. This is something they’re going to be able to put on every day — and it’s going to last them.”
