Our Period Confessions

In honor of our new Knixteen line, we asked some of our Knixperts about their most embarrassing period moments. No shame — we all have them! Thankfully, with Knixteen’s period proof underwear, period fear will soon be a thing of the past.

“OMG, I remember when I was about 14 or 15 and was trying to sneak a pad (gross) from my locker to the bathroom, but I had to pass a million guys in the hallway first so I cleverly hid it in a notebook which of course fell out of my hands at at the worst moment and literally flew across the hall to land in front of everyone.”

“Lolol getting my first period was a saga. I fully thought I pooped my pants 'cause the blood was so dark. When I finally figured out what was going on I made up some horrible excuse to ditch the family friends that were visiting and ran upstairs to get my sister to help me figure out what to do. When we came out of her room the boy my age had been eavesdropping and asked me to my face if I just got my first period. I wanted the floor to swallow me up. Thankfully my sister rescued me again and told him to mind his own business. #teendrama.”

“I got my period on a family trip to Italy, and I’d never used a tampon before. It was over 100 degrees and everyone was swimming, and no one could understand why I didn’t want to get in the pool. I spent over an hour trying to put in a jumbo tampon that I stole from my mom WHILE IT WAS STILL IN THE WRAPPER all while hysterically crying and yelling at my parents when they knocked on the door. Finally I gave up, locked myself in my hotel room, and refused to come out for the rest of the night.”

“I was about 17 or 18 at my uncle's wedding sitting at a head table listening to wedding speeches. When they were over, I got up from my WHITE CHAIR to find that I had leaked all over it and on my dress. Luckily, I come from a family of pretty badass women and my mom and two aunts sprung into action, quickly getting me out of the room cleaning and swapping out the chair before anybody could even catch wind. I've literally never seen my aunts and mom act more swiftly. It was literally like the finesse of a synchronized swimming routine.”
