Super Absorbency
Absorbs 9–12 tsp (45–60 ml) of blood—that’s about 9–12 regular tampons or pads! Perfect for overnight protection or your teens heaviest days when changing into a fresh pair might not be convenient.

High Absorbency
Absorbs 4–8 tsp (20–40 ml) of blood, or the equivalent of 4–8 tampons or pads. These are perfect for heavy flow days.

Medium Absorbency
Absorbs up to 3 tsp (15 ml), or about 3 tampons or pads worth of blood. Ideal for light to medium flow days or as backup to tampons or period cups.

First Layer: Wicks away sweat and moisture while neutralizing odors to keep your teen fresh all day long.

Second Layer: A super thin, highly absorbent liner that holds the power of 3–20 tampons or pads.

The short answer: nope! Depending on the absorbency level of the period underwear and the heaviness of your teens flow, your teen can wear our period undies on their own or as a backup to tampons or menstrual cups. They can wear our High and Super absorbency underwear alone and be totally protected, while our Medium absorbency underwear can be worn alone on lighter days or as backup on heavier days.

Comfy sleepover shorts
I am an adult & buy the teen undies for myself; I now wear size XXL since Knix decided to change their sizing (before, I wore size XL). The sleepover shorts are my favorite style & the material is the most comfortable out of any brand I’ve ever had. They are great for in the hot weather & they do not show thru my leggings or bike shorts. Recently, since they adjusted their sizing, the sizes are inconsistent. I bought 4 pairs in different colors, but the Teal blue (which really are a greenish color), are larger than the other 3 pairs in different colors/patterns (they are all marked the same size) they are so much larger, that they actually fall off of me while the others fit well; this is not the first time it has happened. For the cost, I expect better quality control.

Not a teen, but these are great.
I am not a teen, but I love how comfortable these are and the coverage these provide. I have been using other period underwear for quite a few years now, but these are a lot more comfortable than others I have tried. They clean very easy as well.
My only concern is I wish the coverage went up higher in the front. I didn't have any leaking in the front, but things can shift and can cause issues and knowing you had more coverage in the front would give a little more piece of mind. The short design is really comfortable.

Niece loves these
Got these for my niece (wish they existed when I was a kid!) and she is very happy with them. Makes her feel more comfortable and confident at school, in sports, and when at friends' houses.
