We’re in Rose City for the Knix Pop-Up, so we asked some locals for their best recos.

Before popping-up this month at The Cleaners at the Ace Hotel, we wanted to get a lay of the land in PDX. To make sure we have the most authentically-Portland trip possible, we asked some locals for their favourite spots. Make sure to check them out if you’re headed to town (or if you’re lucky enough to live there!):

Fave Portland Coffee Shop

CREMA Coffee + Bakery in SE Portland serves delicious coffee, quiche and pastries (they have, hands down, the best zucchini muffins in town) and the atmosphere is bright, lively, and always cheerful. Fun spot for breakfast with a pal, a mid-morning work sesh, or a date with your favorite novel.”

Best Portland Boutique

“For how small this city is, Portland's boutique scene is next level.  My absolute favorite spot, for both men and women is Communion on Hawthorne. The expertly curated selection of elevated basics and those special one-of-kind pieces is always on point. I love to take my clients here and regardless of age, personal style and career, we always end up finding something amazing.”

Portland’s Go-To Weekend Activity

“Patio season! Once the sun breaks through the clouds, everyone runs for every bar with a patio for a cold beer in the sun. It's even more rewarding when you're heading there after a nap by the river at Kelley Point Park.  It's hard to go wrong but a few of my current favorites are a glass of rosè at Ron Tom's airy, lush back patio or a hazy IPA on Wayfinder's hip patio down in the industrial neighborhood.”

Challenger for Best Patio

“Portland is filled with bars serving up tasty beverages but one of our favorite spots is the new patio at Bible Club.”

#1 Outdoor Space
“One of the things I've always loved about Portland is the proximity to both the beach and the mountains.  Day trips to the Oregon Coast are a fun escape and full of endless breathtaking surroundings and sweet little beach towns to dine and explore. Then the next day you can head the opposite direction through the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge, stopping at Crown Point to take it all in before you continue up to Hood River for beach hangs and a late lunch at pFriem Family Brewers.”

Portland’s Best Kept Secret

“The Community Warehouse Estate Store is an eclectic thrift shop in NE Portland with everything from funky earrings to collectible sofas at amazing prices. The best part of this little treasure trove is that all of the proceeds support Community Warehouse, Portland's local furniture bank that provides furniture and household goods for neighbors in need. Get your shop on!”
