City Tips: 6 Vancouver Essentials
Team Knix is headed to Vancouver! We are so excited for our pop-up at Diane’s Lingerie and our Spin In Your Skin events at Cadence Cycling Studio this week! And we wanted to be sure we have the best Vancouver experience possible, so we chatted with some locals for their top Vancouver hot spots to help us feel like Vancouverites from the moment we land. If you’re headed to Van soon, check out these spots, and if you’re a lucky local, share your recos with us too!
Fave Vancouver Coffee Shop
“I love Small Victory Bakery. They have the best croissants and their decor is on point. Yes, we're talking marble tables!” - Krystin, Blogger
Top Vancouver Shops
“Diane’s Lingerie (of course!), Mish, The Latest Scoop, Lord’s Shoes and Meinhardt Fine Foods. As we have been situated on South Granville Street for the past 35 years, we are very partial to this area. We have good restaurants, shops, coffee shops, florists, art galleries and the Stanley Theater. The area continues to grow and is a great destination to have a shopping and entertainment stay-cation roaming the street.” - Sharon, Diane’s Lingerie
“Local. If you want to be in the heart of Gastown (Vancouver’s most historic neighbourhood), then the new Local has a great patio for you there, or if you want the beach vibe then head to the original Local in Kitsilano. Order fish tacos and the $5 mystery wine.” - Olivia, Cadence Cycling Studio
Best Vancity Cocktail Bar
“Reflections in the summertime is amazing! Such a gorgeous spot in Vancouver with delicious cocktails. You must try their famous Hotel Georgia cocktail!” - Krystin
Essential Weekend Activity
“Any of the beaches, of course. Kits Beach if you want to get the true Vancouver vibe – it’s always super busy with lots going on. Jericho and Spanish Banks are more mellow with beautiful views. All the beaches downtown – Sunset Beach to Third Beach – get amazing sunset views with lots of great people watching and nearby patios.” - Olivia
Vancouver’s Best Kept Secret
“Probably not a secret anymore, but our craft beer scene is booming. On not-beach-worthy Sundays, head to Main Street where there’s about a dozen craft breweries within walking distance of each other and give yourself a DIY walking or cycling tour! There are so many crazy types and flavours to try, tons of cool spaces to check out, and a communal vibe that makes it really easy to chat and meet new people. (Storm Brewing and Strange Fellows are my two favourites. My favourite beer of all time is the Vanilla Whiskey Stout from Storm.)” - Olivia
Are you a Vancouver local? We’d love to see you! From July 4 - 8, find us at Diane's Lingerie. And on July 5, we'll be spinning in our skin at Cadence Cycling Studio! Get all the details at knixwear.com/community.
